'Happy Days' Craft Classes This is a list of provisional craft classes currently scheduled from May 2011, with more dates continuously being added. Please remember that we are constantly updating our lists, repeating & adding more classes, so please check our list regularly for any changes and additional classes. In addition to this, please inform us of any particular courses you would like to take part in, and we will notify you of the next available date. For further information on any of the classes listed, please telephone or email us. Workshops run from 10am til 4pm and cost only £20 per day. Our classes are small and friendly, with a maximum of 8 students per class (6 where a sewing machine is required.) ‘Patchwork Panels’ (Karen Odinga) Beginners patchwork course, suitable for beginners. Learn three simple blocks, Nine-Patch, Log Cabin and Ohio Star’. Contact shop for further details. Saturday 4 February 2012 – Fruit/Veg or Hearts & Flowers Applique tote/cushion (Karen Odinga) Suitable for beginners. Contact shop for further details. Friday 10 February 2012- Landscape with Free-Machine Embroidery (Brenda O’Carroll) A painted landscape picture, with trees and hedges stitched using free machine embroidery technique. Add 3D ferns,poppies and cow parsley. Sample in shop. Thursday 16 February 2012 – Sampler Quilt Course (Jenny Lankester) Part 1 of 9-part course. Contact shop for further details. Thursday 23 February 2012 – 'Start Sewing – A Wrap Skirt’ (Karen Odinga) You will learn how to measure up and draw your pattern, mark and cut out your fabric and sew your skirt for this quick addition to your wardrobe. Choose long or short-holiday wrap or casual at home-the choice is yours. Suitable for beginners. Samples in the shop. Friday 24 February 2012 – ‘Smart Bag’ (Brenda O’Carroll) The popular bag, back by demand! Lots of useful pockets, embellished with machine embroidery and appliqué, can colour coordinate for special occasions. Sample in shop. Thursday 1 March 2012 – Sampler Quilt Course (Jenny Lankester) Part 2 of 9-part course. Contact shop for further details. Friday 9 March 2012 – ‘Cicada Box’ (Brenda O’Carroll) Sparkling, brightly coloured and embroidered. Cicadas hatch every 100 years, capture your own colour one for the lid of the box. Ideal as a gift box. Sample in shop. Saturday 10 March 2012 – ‘Start Sewing – Retro Apron’ (Karen Odinga) Be the “hostess with the mostess” or just look like one with your own vintage inspired apron. You will also learn how to read pattern markings, create machine appliqué, brush up on basic sewing skills and generally make friends with your sewing machine as well a few embellishment techniques. Friday 20 April 2012 – ‘The Couture Bag’ (Brenda O’Carroll) An attractive different design and useful bag created with strips and embellished with free-machine embroidery, appliqué and beads. As well as individual bookings we are able to accommodate private groups and are always happy to discuss requirements and available dates. Our workshops are all currently priced at £ 20.00 per day and run from 10am - 4pm. Classes are filled on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, and in view of this, we must ask for your class fee upon booking to secure your place. Bookings can be made in person, by phone or by post (please enclose booking form). Please make cheques payable to ‘And Sew On Fabrics’. Unfortunately we are unable to refund class fees unless the class is cancelled by ourselves. Please note, upon booking, you will be provided with a list of requirements that you will need to bring with you to the class, unless otherwise specified.
